Only The Lazy Are Left Poor

There is no more poverty in China, the government cheered. Hundreds of millions have seen their lives improve thanks to a wide spread effort throughout basically all of Chinese society. One of the main strategies is to pull people from undeveloped, rural villages and move them to new towns. Newly built townships are near a road, which should lead to a more well-off life. But to be categorised as a poor household and receive help, is a murky business. It’s all a matter of definition. What is poverty?
